In brief — about the Foundation

The Fonds de Dotation Maria Callas (Maria Callas Foundation) was created in Paris in 2017 at the initiative of Tom Volf with Maria Callas's close friends and associates, Georges Prêtre being its honorary president and co-founder. It preserves the world's most significant private collection devoted to Maria Callas — 200 hours of original recordings, 5,000 original photographs, 150 handwritten letters, stage costumes — and works towards the opening of the Maria Callas Museum in Paris for the fiftieth anniversary of her passing, on 16 September 2027.
